Founded in 1797, Nolensville has long been rooted in its identity as a small farming community, shaped by its geographic isolation and farming heritage. Over the past 25 years, expansion followed the path of least resistance along major arterials in a conventional suburban style, resulting in a pattern of suburban sprawl that diluted the original landscape and weakened the sense of community, leaving the town without a true central gathering place or cohesive civic heart. In response to this trend, three neighboring families came together with a shared vision: to create something greater than themselves and restore a true town square, one that reestablishes connection, identity, and a sense of place for Nolensville’s future.

Nolensville Town Square is formed from three neighboring families choosing to come together  and create something that extends far beyond themselves. As they reflect on their role in shaping this place, their shared belief is simple: we learn from history, we grow from history, and when we use that knowledge with intention, we create spaces where meaningful memories can be made. Each family carries the same sentiment—this is a place they can one day look back on and say, “that’s where I used to live, that’s part of my legacy.” That sense of purpose was matched by a shared trust in collaboration, working alongside Land Innovations and Rochford Realty and Construction “Development Partners” with a common vision to find and create the true heart of Nolensville.

Strategically located near the historic core, adjacent to a major grocery anchor, and positioned within the town’s southern growth corridor, the Town Square provides walkable access for thousands of nearby homes and strengthening everyday community life. Ultimately, it represents a rare opportunity to introduce thoughtful new urbanism into the center of a historically suburban market, reconnecting land, people, and purpose into one shared place.

The Nolensville Town Square Master Plan is designed to meet the community where it is today, while casting a clear vision of what it can become. Shaped by both opportunity and constraint, the site includes the original town community cemetery, a cell tower with fall zone, and over 100-foot vertical elevation change across the property, requiring a thoughtful and dynamic design. Built upon a wide diversity of housing types, local shops, and meaningful green spaces, the Nolensville Town Square plan acts as an integrated framework that bridges single-use parcels, large-lot landowners, and subdivisions to nearby schools, churches, and two grocery anchors serving as the heartbeat and the why for gatherings.
